Petra Stefankova was selected one of the winners in New York's Creative Quarterly 16 international competition (Professional Illustration category). Creative Quarterly is a New York based magazine on visual arts, illustration and design distributed in the US, Canada and the UK through Borders and Barness&Nobles.

Asociation of Illustrators in London will be running The Best of British Contemporary Illustration 2009 show at London College of Communication from 28 July to 15 August 2009. Two of Petra Stefankova's artworks will be on show.

Petra Stefankova's solo show Pink Freud Anyone? at Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava was held from 2nd February to 30th June 2009.

In Decemer 2008 Petra Stefankova gave two lectures on Digital art and media at University of Cyril and Metod in Trnava and Law University in Bratislava.

In November 2008 Petra Stefankova spoke at international digital animation festival E-magicienes in Valenciennes in France. It was organized by renowned french digital animation school Supinfocom.

Petra Stefankova attended a breakfast meeting with The Royal Society of Arts in London at the Painter’s Hall, Little Trinity Lane in conjuction with Lynn Painter-Stainer Prize exhibition.

In October 2008 there was a state banquet in Bratislava to honour and welcome the Queen Elizabeth II in Slovakia. President of Slovak Republic, Ivan Gasparovic, mentioned Petra's success in Britain within his talk.

Petra Stefankova was the Master Award winner in the Expose 6 competition by Ballistic Publishing, CG Society has also published a nice feature on her work.

In July Petra Stefankova went to New York City to present my work within ICON5 Illustration Salon and met many art directors & new clients. It was such a fantastic experience which included also a party with Graphic Artist Guild and private exhibition opening at New York Times.

Universidad de Caldas, Columbia.
